About

Serving at the Altar is a profound way for young people to participate actively in the life of the Church. By assisting the clergy during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, servers help create a reverent and beautiful atmosphere for our community to encounter Christ.

Who Can Serve?

We welcome boys and girls in Grade 4 and above to join this sacred ministry. Whether you are looking to deepen your faith or find a meaningful way to give back to your parish, there is a place for you here.  Adult Altar Servers are also welcome.

Your Role and Formation

Altar servers play a vital role in our worship, assisting at:

  • Saturday Vigil and Sunday Masses: Our weekly communal celebration of the Eucharist.
  • Special Liturgies: Including First Communion, and special feast days such as Christmas and Easter.

No experience is necessary. We provide comprehensive training to ensure every server feels confident and prepared to fulfill their duties with grace and devotion.  New Altar Servers will be paired with experienced Servers at their first few Masses to help them feel comfortable in their role.

All Mass ministry volunteers use the Ministry Scheduler which allows you to identify the Mass(es) at which you would like to serve, dates/times when you are not available to serve at Mass, as well as submit requests for a substitute when you are unable to serve for a Mass for which you are scheduled.

Take the Next Step

If you feel a calling to serve the Lord at His Altar and would like to learn more, we would love to hear from you.  Please call the Parish Office during office hours or talk with our Pastor after Mass for more information.

“The altar server has a privileged place in liturgical celebrations. Those who serve at Mass present themselves to a community. They experience from close at hand that Jesus Christ is present and active in every liturgy.” – Pope St. John Paul II
